The Octane Compositor nodes are designed to be used with the Render AOV system. They provide a way to composite the AOVs together directly in OctaneRender®. The AOV compositing nodes can be found in the Octane Composite editor (figure 1).

Blender provides a native compositing solution that works with Octane AOVs, but you might find some additional benefits using the Octane solution.
