OctaneRender for Cinema 4D can now both render and convert the Redshift Standard Material for Cinema 4D release 2024 and newer (see the Cinema 4D Redshift documentation for more information on the Redshift Standard Material). No other Redshift Material types are converted. This support may change in future OctaneRender releases.

For more information on Redshift Material conversion, see the Convert Materials topic.

ABOUT THE IMAGE

The toaster is from the Cinema 4D Asset Browser with Redshift materials assigned. The materials were selected, and the Live Viewer > Materials > Convert Materials command was used; this resulted in Octane Standard Surface Materials with all image textures assigned. The conversion maintains the same values as the Redshift Standard Material where applicable. While Octane can render Redshift Standard Materials without conversion, the result is almost always better when the Convert Materials command is used. It is also a good idea to review the results, and make any desired adjustments (as was done in this image). The HDR image (used for simulating the kitchen environment) is from Freepik. The Realistic Lens camera using a 35mm f/1.8 lens, (F-stop set to 8) was used for the render.

Note that the powercord and countertop materials in this image are created from Greyscalegorilla Plus assets, and were not initially Redshift materials.
