The FBM Noise procedural texture produces a 3D noise pattern similar to the FBM FLow Noise but with fewer parameters (figure 1).

FBM Noise Parameters

Time - Animates the FBM Noise effect.

Octaves - Changes the number of octaves over which the noise function is calculated, otherwise known as frequencies.

UVW Transform - Positions, scales, and rotates the surface texture.

Projection - Sets how the texture projects onto the surface.

Coordinate Space - Determines the coordinate space for the texture map. 

Use Rest Attribute - Prevents texture sliding, swimming, or distortion on animated and deforming meshes by locking coordinates to an base frame.
