The Composite Texture node is a traditional composite stack for image textures via the Composite Texture Layer node. The composite stack goes from right (bottom most layer) to the left (top most layer). In figure 1, the Composite Texture node is used to mix a RGB Color node using a Checks texture node for opacity with a Ridged Fractal Texture node.

Composite Texture Parameters

 

Add/Remove Layer - Adds or removes composite texture layer pins.

Clamp - Clamps the results of blending each alyer to 0 and 1.

Layer 2 - The default top most layer.

Layer 1 - The default bottom most layer.

Blend Group Nodes

Layer Group - Provides multiple layer pins for blending together the various composite texture nodes.

Texture - Used to add procedural or imported texture maps to the composite texture layout.

Effects - COlor Nodes

This category of the composite texture system provides nodes for editing and adjusting color components of composited texture maps.

Effects - Opacity Nodes

This category of the composite texture system provides nodes for controlling masking information of composited texture maps.

Operator Nodes

This category of the composite texture system provides nodes for comparing and extracting components of composited texture maps.

Utility Nodes

This category of the composite texture system provides nodes for switching between compositing nodes connected to the same input pins.
