The Vertex DisplacementThe process of utilizing a 2D texture map to generate 3D surface relief. As opposed to bump and normal mapping, Displacement mapping does not only provide the illusion of depth but it effectively displaces the actual geometric position of points over the textured surface. Mixer allows you to mix multiple Vertex Displacement nodes. In the following illustration (figure 1), the NodeGraph Editor window is used to clearly illustrate the association of the various texture nodes.
Figure 1: The Vertex Displacement Mixer node used to blend two procedural textures as vector displacements.
Add Input
Add a new Displacement input to the end of the node.
Remove Input
Removes the last Displacement input.
Displacement
Connects a Vertex Displacement node.
Blend Weight
Controls the mix amount of the connected Vertex Displacement node.
