Moving Octane .rvt File Assets to Another PC

When you move a .rvt file to another PC (ie; from your work PC to your home PC), you will need to also copy the Octane assets. These assets are moved as follows:

Revit scene file – doesn’t matter when you is copied to on your home PC
Revit texturemaps – these should be in the same folder on your home PC as at work (ie. C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\MaterialsA set of attributes or parameters that describe surface characteristics.\TexturesTextures are used to add details to a surface. Textures can be procedural or imported raster files.)
LiveDb texturemaps – these will be in the folder specified in your plugin configuration – so set this to the same folder on both PC’s and copy the files across
OCS/ORBXThe ORBX file format is the best way to transfer scene files from 3D Authoring software programs that use the Octane Plug-in such as Octane for Maya, Octane for Cinema 4D, or OctaneRender Standalone. This format is more efficient than FBX when working with Octane specific data as it provides a flexible, application independent format. ORBX is a container format that includes all animation data, models, textures etc. that is needed to transfer an Octane scene from one application to another. Proxies – – these need to be on the same folders on both PC’s. So suggest storing them in c:\ProgramData\OctaneRender\ForRevit\myProjectName, so that whole folder structure can copied/sync’d between PC’s
Other Texturemaps and Proxies – these need to be on the same folders on both PC’s. So suggest storing them in c:\ProgramData\OctaneRender\ForRevit\myProjectName, so that whole folder structure can copied/sync’d between PC’s
