Copying Overrides
Overrides can't be duplicated correctly using Modo's built in duplicate command, or dragged between scenes. You will need to use the following methods instead.
Copying Overrides to Other Shader Tree Groups in the Same Scene
The preferred method for copying an override into the same scene is:
- Select the override, then use tools > Duplicate Octane Override. This makes a copy of the override and nodes visible in schematic (including any Modo nodes).
- Drag the new override into the desired Shader tree group.
Copying Overrides to Other Scenes
The preferred method for copying an override to a different scene is:
- Select the override, then use Material tools > Save as Preset. Make sure to save the preset to a path visible in the Modo preset browser.
- Select or load another scene.
- Open a preset browser (F6), find the preset and double click it. The override is loaded into the root of the Shader tree.
- Drag the override from the root of the Shader tree, into the desired Shader tree material group.
Other options can also be used, but they aren't recommended since they use Octane's internal XML format, which can differ to what's seen in Modo's schematic.
- Using the Copy Material / Paste Material buttons on Octane Overrides.
- Saving and loading Overrides to/from Local DB. See Local DB for more details.
