Triplanar Texture

The Triplanar texture maps Textures onto a surface based on the XYZ axis in either object space or world space. The mapped TexturesTextures are used to add details to a surface. Textures can be procedural or imported raster files. do not require UV coordinates, but instead act as Planar projections from three directions.

By default, the mapped Textures are red, green, and blue colors, but you can connect Textures to each axis instead of colors. Figure 1 shows a Triplanar texture is connected to the DiffuseAmount of diffusion, or the reflection of light photons at different angles from an uneven or granular surface. Used for dull, non-reflecting materials or mesh emitters. channel.

Triplanar Parameters

Blend Angle - Changes the blending from one Planar projection to the next based on the angle specified.

Coordinate Space - Switch between Object and World space projection.

Transform - Accepts a Transform node for scaling, rotating, or translating the texture.

Axis Textures - Inputs for the textures based on positive and negative XYZ textures.
