Supported Geometry and Features

Octane for Lightwave can load all geometry available in the scene, but currently Octane doesn’t support complex polygons or polygons with holes. To avoid artifacts user must work only with 3 or 4 vertex polygons. If you have complex geometry it is best to triple this polygons in the Modeler before working with them in Octane.

Plugin support vertex normal maps. It also support the Object dissolve and distance dissolve settings. This settings override all the object shaders opacity values. IPRProvides artists a quick preview of the image prior to the final render, and efficiently allows for adjusting some elements in the scene such as lights, shaders and textures interactively. An IPR image contains shading and lighting data including some for visibility, in addition to the software render. show the dissolve settings updates in real time.

Lightwave Subdivision Surfaces (Subpatch and Catmull-Clark) and Lightwave displacement mapping should be rendered with Octane for Lightwave without problems.

One or two vertex polygons and particle systems are not supported currently by Octane.

FiberFX hair rendering is supported in LightWave 2015.
